Contract Management and Contractual Advice

Managing the project in accordance with the Contract is obviously imperative for both successful project delivery and to ensure parties are re-reimbursed for additional costs and/ or time to which they are entitled. 

The 4Sight team are highly experienced in all forms of Contract such as NEC, FIDIC, ICE as well as modified versions and entirely bespoke contracts. We help our clients undertake their roles and responsibilities in accordance with the Contract at all project stages and help ensure project changes and events are properly notified with the correct substantiation during the course of the works.

With our IT partner Sypro, we offer a Contract Management software solution which is very easy to use and provides very significant benefits in streamlining the contract management process, specifying the requirements of stakeholders under the contract, and greatly reducing the number of disputes by enhancing communication, record keeping and collaboration between the parties.

We ensure the relevant machinery of the specific contract is utilised to substantiate forensic analysis when preparing or rebutting time and cost claims and work closely with our legal partners if claims progress to ADR or judicial hearings.

Project Controls

Construction is a risk business. Project success comes from predicting and managing change and minimising risk by using the right expertise, procedures, tools and techniques.

Effective project controls provide the capability to reveal trends toward cost overrun and or schedule slippage. Identifying those trends early is a major factor in ensuring successful project management and reducing risk.

Change Management

Changes are inevitable on construction and engineering projects. The priority is to avoid or reduce any negative impact.

Uncertainties make construction projects dynamic and variable, mostly by creating non-value adding changes to construction processes. 

When a project is progressed without proper planning, those changes can cause delay and disruption, which can lead to critical delays. Changes need to be dealt with in a controlled and systematic manner and should be monitored and appraised for any potential or actual impact on the project, from both a time and cost perspective.

The 4Sight team have years of experience in developing project recovery strategies, ranging from mitigation strategies to plan and re-sequence the works without the need for additional costs, to the development of acceleration measures.

These strategies require agreement between the relevant parties, detailed planning and in the case of acceleration, additional resources to achieve the revised milestones and frequently necessitate contract changes or addendum's to the Contract.
